Community Involvement

Rodair is recognized by many organizations for philanthropic activity, as well for the efforts and time that members of the Rodair team and family donate on an ongoing basis. The executive team is active on charity and industry boards, as well as members of the management team and front line employees who are active and supported corporately in engagement in community and industry organizations. Rodair is proud of the engagement that the entire team provides to a multitude of organizations.

  • Rodair took part in the City of Mississauga’s One Million Trees initiative to plant one million trees by the year 2020
  • Rodair sponsors 5 local youth baseball/softball community teams yearly
  • Rodair sponsors local youth dance companies and competitions

  • Princess Margaret Invest in Research Foundation (5 year significant financial commitment of $50,000)
  • Golf to Conquer Cancer (multiyear ongoing donations ranging from $15,000 per annum to $65,000)
  • CITT Scholarships – two annual scholarships provided by Rodair and awarded to students achieving the highest grades. These scholarships are in the name of two of Rodair’s founding shareholders (2 annual scholarships totaling $2500 have been ongoing for 10 years)
  • MS Society of Canada supporting a former employee of Rodair who developed MS
  • Children’s Wish Foundation (multiyear donations ranging from $500 to $10,000 per annum)
  • Hospital for Sick Children
  • Air Canada’s Dreams Take Flight (multiyear ongoing donations ranging from $2000 to $10,000)
  • Movember – Rodair staff globally participate in Movember and Rodair has matched funds raised (Rodair has collectively raised more than $75,000 over the years)
  • At Christmas, instead of distributing lavish gifts, Rodair believes that regardless of race, religion, or creed, the holidays are a time for giving. We make significant financial contributions in the names of our clients and employees as a token of our appreciation
  • Rodair is proud to support Dreams Take Flight, the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, and Holiday Helpers.
  • The Compass – Food bank – donation of an industrial dishwasher as well as ongoing financial support
  • Orchard Hope School (donation of $500 per annum to support a client who provides a local school in China with support)
  • Internal Food drives and toy drives throughout the year to support local charities. These initiatives are grassroots led by Rodair staff
  • Sponsorship of local sports teams: Royal York Baseball League, Tottenham Minor Softball, Oakville Rangers Hockey, Caledon Minor Hockey

Holiday Helpers

Holiday Helpers' mission is to provide a one-time personalized Christmas package to low income families with young children who are trying to improve their circumstances. Holiday Helpers work with donors, volunteers and partnering charities to provide each family with a holiday meal, decorated Christmas tree, and customized Christmas gifts. Day 11: Dreams Take Flight

Dreams Take Flight

Dreams Take Flight is a national non-profit organization dedicated to giving the trip of a lifetime to children with special needs. Since its inception in 1989 by Air Canada employees, Dreams Take Flight has flown over 20,000 children to Walt Disney World making their dreams come true. Day 10: Jack.org

Jack.org

Rodair is proud to donate to Jack.org because we believe in their mission to end stigma around mental health. Jack.org is a national network of young leaders transforming the way we think about mental health. Day 9: The Compass

The Compass

Rodair’s founder, Pat Cullen who has since retired, now runs The Compass Food Bank and Outreach Centre. The Compass provides a safe and welcoming place for people to come to for help. The Compass also offers immediate assistance with food and work with clients offering practical and spiritual support to the challenges that often come along with a low income. The Compass’ mission is to give help for today and hope for tomorrow. Day 8: Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation

Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation

The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation is passionate about Conquering Cancer in Our Lifetime. In January 2017, they successfully achieved their Billion Dollar Challenge, a historic five-year campaign securing more than $1 billion, in partnership with Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, for personalized cancer medicine. Day 7: All Paws

All Paws

The Rodair team held a 50/50 draw to support All Paws, an animal rescue group. All Paws Rescue aims to save as many animals as they can. They ensure that every animal is fixed, immunized and healthy before being placed for adoption. Day 6: CAMH

CAMH

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada's largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital, as well as one of the world's leading research centres in the area of addiction and mental health. Day 5: Regeant Park School of Music

Regeant Park School of Music

Regent Park School of Music is a non-profit community music school offering young people (ages 3-18) a music education by removing the financial obstacle. RPSM has given 1,000 young people a highly subsidized quality music education at their central hub in Daniels Spectrum in Regent Park and in Jane and Finch and other high-priority neighbourhoods in Toronto. Their goal is to help kids succeed through music. Day 4: MS Society

MS Society

The MS Society provides services to people with multiple sclerosis and their families. The MS Society also funds research to find the cause and cure for this disease. They have a membership of 17,000 and are the only national voluntary organization in Canada that supports both MS research and services. Day 3: Rosalie Hall

Rosalie Hall

Rosalie Hall provides a comprehensive range of early intervention, prevention and treatment services meeting the needs of young families from Scarborough and across the Toronto Region. Rosalie Hall assists young parents and their children in need by providing a wide range of community, residential, educational and child development services. Day 2: Heart & Stroke Foundation

Heart & Stroke Foundation

For more than 60 years, Heart & Stroke has been dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Their work has saved thousands of lives and improved the lives of millions of others. The Heart & Stroke Foundation has invested $1.45 billion in life-saving research since 1952 which resulted in a 75% decline in heart disease and stroke death rate. There are currently 820 researchers funded by Heart & Stroke. Day 1: Habitat For Humanity

Habitat For Humanity

Rodair is proud that our very own Leia Pengelley will be travelling to Vietnam in March 2018 to build houses with the Global Village team. The Habitat For Humanity organization aims to eliminate housing poverty one house at a time by building homes for families which will help strengthen their community.
